Thomas Cherokee Farm began its humble existence in 2011 as a small riding school and training barn. By 2012 we had become, without setting out to do so, a rescue as well. Over the years we have seen more than 300 equines come and go through the rescue. Today we don’t run nearly as large of an operation as in previous years, but we generally have 2-4 rescues at a time. Each rescue is carefully rehabbed, and students that are capable and show an interest get to assist in the rehab and training of the equines. They are often used in the lesson program, and ultimately get adopted out to suitable homes.
