The Non-Rescues!

“Oughtabe A Princess” – Registered Appaloosa

Meet Mystique, AKA “Tique”. Tique is a 2005 model lovebug. She’s been with Miss Kris for all but her fist year of life. Together they have spent a year working on a cattle ranch in Wyoming, excelled in the hunter show ring, dabbled in the western show ring, played with sidesaddle in the show ring, and now Tique spends her time toting beginners and kiddos around for lessons. She has arthritis in a knee now, but still wants to work (and actively pouts if she doesn’t!). She has had four babies (one deceased), two of which are permanent fixtures on the farm.

“Oughtabe A Cherokee” – Registered Walkaloosa

Meet Hope! Hope is Tique’s second child. She is 100% ADHD and 100% love. Hope is a 2015 model, and has dazzled (and frustrated!) the farm with her brilliant intelligence. She is athletic, and despite a leg injury (which healed beautifully – to God be the Glory!), her favorite things to do are gallop cross country, and go across jumps. She and Miss Kris have logged many hours on the trails and backcountry all over SWVA. Hope teaches munchkins how to ride, and then challenges the adults as they advance. Hope is a Walkaloosa (appaloosa X TWH), and as such willingly exhibits 4 gaits: Walk, Running-Walk, Trot, and Canter.
Hope is hopefully in foal for a 2026 baby.

“Cherokee’s Royalty” – Registered Walkaloosa

Meet Hans! Hans is Hope’s full brother and is a 2017 model gelding. Hans got the short end of the stick as far as smarts — his momma gave Hope a brain and a half, leaving Hans with only a half a brain. Hans is not smart by any means. BUT what he lacks in brains, he makes up for with his sweet, caring nature and his willingness to try his best for each and every rider. Hans doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, and thoroughly enjoys all his human interactions. Hans has been trail ridden a fair amount throughout SWVA, but his main purpose is as a lesson horse. Hans rides western and english. As a Walkaloosa (appaloosa X TWH), he also exhibits 4 gaits: Walk, Rack, Trot, Canter.
